I really appreciated this blog, and in your page you ask the question, what are the 'motives' behind many green endeavors. Excellant!
You also ask, 'How are you taking it to the next level? Whom do you admire in the landscape of the new sustainables, and whom should we encourage to examine their motives and methods?'

There are many people without an agenda, they want only to bring about the changes needed to help our environment and the future of our children, to them I have say,'Bravo'.... and YOU know who you are. Thank you!

Sincerely, Sandy

We agree...if more companies took into consideration what NAU did as a company, we would be having a very different conversation as a culture and a planet. Peace.

"Hats off to NAU"
What a wonderful attempt to change the current " Good guys finish last" mentality that some companies still follow.
Even though NAU calls it quits, let's hope that we have not heard the end of thier innovative ideas.

Juliana,

The idea that anyone would be in favor of “the capricious destruction of the environment,” is disturbing. Therefore, the opportunity to observe our own actions, and effect change is even more important. Keep writing. Peace.

Hey just stopping by to get my dose of green info. Always good stuff here! I am trying to compile a list of stuff I can do to reduce my carbon emissions. MTV had a commercial about it, and got me interested. I have been to www.earthlab.com and they have a ton of tips but I was mostly impressed by their page where they have their users send in tips: http://www.earthlab.com/life/tips.aspx Does anyone else know of other data bases that I can find these types of small things that lower my emissions? EPA or WWF maybe?

Thanks for all your info and drop me a link if you guys see anything worth my time.

hi matt,

as first world consumers, we have an obligation to observe the privilege of our habits of consumption. the beauty, is, we have choices. The challenge is to curb the wants with what is truly needed, and come up with strategies to reduce, reuse and recycle...in that order. peace.

Great post (even though I just found it). I agree with your ideas, especially: "there’s nothing truly sustainable about creating superfluous products".

That's the big question: does buying a surplus of green products really make for a better life and carry less of a repercussion?
