Viral/Buzz Marketing
As old fashioned as it seems, "word-of-mouth" advertising still reigns supreme. Only now, it has new names like "viral marketing" or "buzz marketing". Really, it's only the venues delivering the message that's changed, not the reality. If you have a great product, your customers will spread the word and if they mention this online, that can happen almost instantly and spread rapidly, or "go viral". Some people will tell you that they'll make you "go viral". That's an unfounded claim. It's impossible to know what will catch the attention of the online public at any given moment, but not trying is even worse than guaranteeing something will hit the "buzz fan".
